The Day Of Days Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF HIJI KLML NOPQ

Each eve earth falleth down the darkA
As though its hope were o erB
Yet lurks the sun when day is doneC
Behind to morrow s doorD
-
Grey grows the dawn while men folk sleepE
Unseen spreads on the lightF
Till the thrush sings to the coloured thingsG
And earth forgets the nightF
-
No otherwise wends on our HopeH
E en as a tale that s toldI
Are fair lives lost and all the costJ
Of wise and true and boldI
-
We ve toiled and failed we spake the wordK
None hearkened dumb we lieL
Our Hope is dead the seed we spreadM
Fell o er the earth to dieL
-
What s this For joy our hearts stand stillN
And life is loved and dearO
The lost and found the Cause hath crownedP
The Day of Days is hereQ
