Near But Far Away Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCABBD EFFGGF

She wavered stopped and turned methought her eyesA
The deep grey windows of her heart were wetB
Methought they softened with a new regretB
To note in mine unspoken miseriesC
And as a prayer from out my heart did riseA
And struggled on my lips in shame's strong netB
She stayed me and cried Brother our lips metB
Her deawr hands drew me into ParadiseD
-
Sweet seemed that kiss till thence her feet were goneE
Sweet seemed the word she spake while it might beF
As wordless music But truth fell on meF
And kiss and word I knew and left aloneG
Face to face seemed I to a wall of stoneG
While at my back there beat a boundless seaF
