Near Avalon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CCCC DEDE CCCC

A ship with shields before the sunA
Six maidens round the mastB
A red gold crown on every oneA
A green gown on the lastB
-
The fluttering green banners thereC
Are wrought with ladies' heads most fairC
And a portraiture of GuenevereC
The middle of each sail doth bearC
-
A ship with sails before the windD
And round the helm six knightsE
Their heaumes are on whereby half blindD
They pass by many sightsE
-
The tatter'd scarlet banners thereC
Right soon will leave the spear heads bareC
Those six knights sorrowfully bearC
In all their heaumes some yellow hairC
