Drawing Near The Light Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

Lo when we wade the tangled woodA
In haste and hurry to be thereB
Nought seem its leaves and blossoms goodA
For all that they be fashioned fairB
-
But looking up at last we seeC
The glimmer of the open lightD
From o er the place where we would beC
Then grow the very brambles brightD
-
So now amidst our day of strifeE
With many a matter glad we playF
When once we see the light of lifeE
Gleam through the tangle of to dayF
