Inscription Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEFFGGHHIIJJKLAB

Come and where these runnels fallA
Listen to my madrigalB
Far from all sounds of all the strifeC
That murmur through the walks of lifeC
From grief inquietude and fearsD
From scenes of riot or of tearsE
From passions cankering day by dayF
That wear the inmost heart awayF
From pale Detraction's envious spiteG
That worries where it fears to biteG
From mad Ambition's worldly chaseH
Come and in this shady placeH
Be thine Contentment's humble joysI
And a life that makes no noiseI
Save when fancy musing longJ
Turns to desultory songJ
And wakes some lonely melodyK
Like the water dripping byL
Come and where these runnels fallA
Listen to my madrigalB
