Hymn Written For The Rev. Mr. Walker, Of Chichester. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE FFFF GGHH

Where may zeal due succour findA
Man for thy unguarded mindA
To shield thee when temptations reignB
From folly's snare and vice's baneB
-
The law of God a Saviour's lawC
Justly heard with grateful aweD
That alone pure light suppliesE
To the simple and the wiseE
-
He whose heart however triedF
Keeps the word of God his guideF
He walks secure and undismay'dF
Amid misfortune's darkest shadeF
-
He tho' tempests round Him rollG
Feels a sacred calm of soulG
Breathing to his latest breathH
Joy in life and hope in deathH
