The Widow's Lament In Springtime Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJJKKLMINOPQ RSTJUVJO

Sorrow is my own yardA
where the new grassB
flames as it has flamedC
often before but notD
with the cold fireE
that closes round me this yearF
Thirtyfive yearsG
I lived with my husbandH
The plumtree is white todayI
with masses of flowersJ
Masses of flowersJ
load the cherry branchesK
and color some bushesK
yellow and some redL
but the grief in my heartM
is stronger than theyI
for though they were my joyN
formerly today I notice themO
and turn away forgettingP
Today my son told meQ
that in the meadowsR
at the edge of the heavy woodsS
in the distance he sawT
trees of white flowersJ
I feel that I would likeU
to go thereV
and fall into those flowersJ
and sink into the marsh near themO
