| poplars a festering pulp on the wet earth | E |
| beneath them With what deep thirst | D |
| we quicken our desires | F |
| to that rank odor of a passing springtime | G |
| Can you not be decent Can you not reserve your ardors | F |
| for something less unlovely What girl will care | H |
| for us do you think if we continue in these ways | F |
