Blueflags Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIIIIIIAIJFAK LKIMIINAIAOII

I stopped the carA
to let the children downB
where the streets endC
in the sunD
at the marsh edgeE
and the reeds beginF
and there are small housesG
facing the reedsH
and the blue mist in the distanceI
with grapevine trellisesI
with grape clustersI
small as strawberriesI
on the vinesI
and ditchesI
running springwaterA
that continue the guttersI
with willows over themJ
The reeds beginF
like water at a shoreA
their pointed petals wavingK
dark green and lightL
But blueflags are blossomingK
in the reedsI
which the children pluckM
chattering in the reedsI
high over their headsI
which they partN
with bare arms to appearA
with fists of flowersI
till in the airA
there comes the smellO
of calmusI
from wet gummy stalksI
