Nurse's Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE FGHGFIJK

When the voices of children are heard on the greenA
And laughing is heard on the hillB
My heart is at rest within my breastC
And everything else is stillB
Then come home my children the sun is gone downD
And the dews of night ariseE
Come come leave off play and let us awayF
Till the morning appears in the skiesE
-
No no let us play for it is yet dayF
And we cannot go to sleepG
Besides in the sky the little birds flyH
And the hills are all covered with sheepG
Well well go and play till the light fades awayF
And then go home to bedI
The little ones leaped and shouted and laughedJ
And all the hills echoedK
