Shadwell Stair Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFF GAAG

I am the ghost of Shadwell StairA
Along the wharves by the water houseB
And through the cavernous slaughter houseB
I am the shadow that walks thereA
-
Yet I have flesh both firm and coolC
And eyes tumultuous as the gemsD
Of moons and lamps in the full ThamesD
When dusk sails wavering down the poolC
-
Shuddering the purple street arc burnsE
Where I watch always from the banksF
Dolorously the shipping clanksF
And after me a strange tide turnsF
-
I walk till the stars of London waneG
And dawn creeps up the Shadwell StairA
But when the crowing syrens blareA
I with another ghost am lainG
