Round Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDAEB EFGDHCEA AEEDDEEA

Wondrous life cried Marvell at Appleton HouseA
Renan admired Jesus Christ wholeheartedlyB
But here dried ferns keep falling to the floorC
And something inside my headD
Flaps like a worn out blind Royal Cortssoz is deadD
A blow to the Herald Tribune A closet mouseA
Rattles the wrapper on the breakfast food RenanE
Admired Jesus Christ wholeheartedlyB
-
Flaps like a worn out blind CezanneE
Would break out in the quiet streets of AixF
And shout Le monde c'est terrible RoyalG
Cortissoz is dead And something inside my headD
Flaps like a worn out blind The soilH
In which the ferns are dying needs more VigoroC
There is no twilight on the moon no mist or rainE
No hail or snow no life Here in this houseA
-
Dried ferns keep falling to the floor a mouseA
Rattles the wrapper on the breakfast food CezanneE
Would break out in the quiet streets and scream RenanE
Admired Jesus Christ wholeheartedly And something inside my headD
Flaps like a worn out blind Royal Cortissoz is deadD
There is no twilight on the moon no hail or snowE
One notes fresh desecrations on the porticoE
Wondrous life cried Marvell at Appleton HouseA

Tslothrop: One of my favorites. Kees creates a poem which is structurally & thematically antithetical to views of cortissoz & renan Presenting a phenomenalogical expression of experience to counter their intractable rationalism
