La Vita Nuova Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGH IJKLM

Last summer in the blue heatA
Over the beach in the burning airB
A legless beggar lurched on calloused fistsC
To where I waited with the sun dazed birdsD
He said The summer boils away My lifeE
Joins to another life this parched skinF
Dries and dies and flakes awayG
Becomes your costume when the torn leaves blowH
-
Thus in the losing autumnI
Over the streets I now lurchJ
Legless to your side and speak your nameK
Under a gray sky ripped apartL
By thunder and the changing windM
