The Universe Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK

I heard a little child beneath the starsA
Talk as he ran alongB
To some sweet riddle in his mind that seemedC
A tiptoe into songB
-
In his dark eyes lay a wild universeD
Wild forests peaks and crestsE
Angels and fairies giants wolves and heF
Were that world's only guestsE
-
Elsewhere was home and mother his warm bedG
Now only God aloneH
Could armed with all His power and wisdom makeI
Earths richer than his ownH
-
O Man thy dreams thy passions hopes desiresJ
He in his pity keepK
A homely bed where love may lull a child'sL
Fond Universe asleepK
