Invective Against Swans Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB AC DE FG HI JJ

The soul O ganders flies beyond the parksA
And far beyond the discords of the windB
-
A bronze rain from the sun descending marksA
The death of summer which that time enduresC
-
Like one who scrawls a listless testamentD
Of golden quirks and Paphian caricaturesE
-
Bequeathing your white feathers to the moonF
And giving your bland motions to the airG
-
Behold already on the long paradesH
The crows anoint the statues with their dirtI
-
And the soul O ganders being lonely fliesJ
Beyond your chilly chariots to the skiesJ
