The North Star Whispers To The Blacksmith's Son Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIK

The North Star whispers You are oneA
Of those whose course no chance can changeB
You blunder but are not undoneA
Your spirit task is fixed and strangeB
-
When here you walk a bloodless shadeC
A singer all men else forgetD
Your chants of hammer forge and spadeC
Will move the prarie village yetD
-
That young stiff necked reviling townE
Beholds your fancies on her wallsF
And paints them out or tears them downE
Or bars them from her feasting hallsF
-
Yet shall the fragments still remainG
Yet shall remain some watch tower strongH
That ivy vines will not disdainG
Haunted and trembling with your songH
-
Your flambeau in the dusk shall burnI
Flame high in storms flame white and clearJ
Your ghost in gleaming robes returnI
And burn a deathless incense hereK
