The Haughty Snail-king Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDCCEFGFHF IJKJLLMJ

What Uncle William told the ChildrenA
-
Twelve snails went walking after nightB
They'd creep an inch or soC
Then stop and bug their eyesD
And blowC
Some folks are deadly slowC
Twelve snails went walking yestereveE
Led by their fat old kingF
They were so dull their princeling hadG
No sceptre robe or ringF
Only a paper cap to wearH
When nightly journeyingF
-
This king snail said I feel a thoughtI
Within It blossoms soonJ
O little courtiers of mineK
I crave a pretty boonJ
Oh yes High thoughts with effort comeL
And well bred snails are ALMOST dumbL
I wish I had a yellow crownM
As glistering as the moonJ
