Star Of My Heart Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABBCCBBC DEDDEFFFGGFHF

Star of my heart I follow from afarA
Sweet Love on high lead on where shepherds areA
Where Time is not and only dreamers areA
Star from of old the Magi Kings are deadB
And a foolish Saxon seeks the manger bedB
O lead me to Jehovah's childC
Across this dreamland lone and wildC
Then will I speak this prayer unsaidB
And kiss his little haloed headB
My star and I we love thee little childC
-
Except the Christ be born again to nightD
In dreams of all men saints and sons of shameE
The world will never see his kingdom brightD
Stars of all hearts lead onward thro' the nightD
Past death black deserts doubts without a nameE
Past hills of pain and mountains of new sinF
To that far sky where mystic births beginF
Where dreaming ears the angel song shall winF
Our Christmas shall be rare at dawning thereG
And each shall find his brother fairG
Like a little child withinF
All hearts of the earth shall find new birthH
And wake no more to sinF
