On The Road To Nowhere Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGF FHIHFJKJABLD MNBNABBBBOPOQRBRSTUT AVWXWYZY

On the road to nowhereA
What wild oats did you sowB
When you left your father's houseC
With your cheeks aglowD
Eyes so strained and eagerE
To see what you might seeF
Were you thief or were you foolG
Or most nobly freeF
-
Were the tramp days knightlyF
True sowing of wild seedH
Did you dare to make the songsI
Vanquished workmen needH
Did you waste much moneyF
To deck a leper's feastJ
Love the truth defy the crowdK
Scandalize the priestJ
On the road to nowhereA
What wild oats did you sowB
Stupids find the nowhere roadL
Dusty grim and slowD
-
Ere their sowing's endedM
They turn them on their trackN
Look at the caitiff craven wightsB
Repentant hurrying backN
Grown ashamed of nowhereA
Of rags endured for yearsB
Lust for velvet in their heartsB
Pierced with Mammon's spearsB
All but a few fanaticsB
Give up their darling goalO
Seek to be as others areP
Stultify the soulO
Reapings now confront themQ
Glut them or destroyR
Curious seeds grain or weedsB
Sown with awful joyR
Hurried is their harvestS
They make soft peace with menT
Pilgrims pass They care notU
Will not tramp againT
-
O nowhere golden nowhereA
Sages and fools go onV
To your chaotic oceanW
To your tremendous dawnX
Far in your fair dream havenW
Is nothing or is allY
They press on singing sowingZ
Wild deeds without recallY
