Honor Among Scamps Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE DGDH

We are the smirched Queen Honor is the spotlessA
We slept thro' wars where Honor could not sleepB
We were faint hearted Honor was full valiantC
We kept a silence Honor could not keepB
-
Yet this late day we make a song to praise herD
We codeless will yet vindicate her codeE
She who was mighty walks with us the beggarsF
The merchants drive her out upon the roadE
-
She makes a throne of sod beside our campfireD
We give the maiden queen our rags and tearsG
A battered rascal guard have rallied round herD
To keep her safe until the better yearsH
