Here's To The Mice! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDECFE GHHHHIJI

Written with the hope that the socialists might yet dethrone Kaiser and CzarA
-
-
Here's to the mice that scare the lionsB
Creeping into their cagesC
Here's to the fairy mice that biteD
The elephants fat and wiseE
Hidden in the hay pile while the elephant thunder ragesC
Here's to the scurrying timid miceF
Through whom the proud cause diesE
-
Here's to the seeming accidentG
When all is planned and workingH
All the flywheels turningH
Not a vassal shirkingH
Here's to the hidden tunneling thingH
That brings the mountain's groansI
Here's to the midnight scamps that gnawJ
Gnawing away the thronesI
