Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCCDD

Would that by Hindu magic we becameA
Dark monks of jeweled India long agoB
Sitting at Prince Siddartha's feet to knowB
The foolishness of gold and love and stationC
The gospel of the Great RenunciationC
The ragged cloak the staff the rain and sunC
The beggar's life with far Nirvana gleamingD
Lord make us Buddhas dreamingD
