While Summer Suns O'er The Gay Prospect Play'd Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEEDFFGHGH

While summer suns o'er the gay prospect play'dA
Through Surrey's verdant scenes where Epsom spreadB
'Mid intermingling elms her flowery meadsC
And Hascombe's hill in towering groves array'dA
Rear'd its romantic steep with mind sereneD
I journey'd blithe Full pensive I return'dE
For now my breast with hopeless passion burn'dE
Wet with hoar mists appear'd the gaudy sceneD
Which late in careless indolence I pass'dF
And Autumn all around those hues had castF
Where past delight my recent grief might traceG
Sad change that Nature a congenial gloomH
Should wear when most my cheerless mood to chaseG
I wish'd her green attire and wonted bloomH
