Linda To Hafed Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCDEEFFGHGHIJIJ JKJLMNOOPPQRQRJSJSTU T

FROM 'THE FIRE WORSHIPPERS 'A
-
-
'How sweetly ' said the trembling maidB
Of her own gentle voice afraidB
So long had they in silence stoodC
Looking upon that moonlight floodD
'How sweetly does the moonbeam smileE
To night upon yon leafy isleE
Oft in my fancy's wanderingsF
I've wished that little isle had wingsF
And we within its fairy bowersG
Were wafted off to seas unknownH
Where not a pulse should beat but oursG
And we might live love die aloneH
Far from the cruel and the coldI
Where the bright eyes of angels onlyJ
Should come around us to beholdI
A paradise so pure and lonelyJ
Would this be world enough for thee '-
Playful she turned that he might seeJ
The passing smile her cheek put onK
But when she marked how mournfullyJ
His eyes met hers that smile was goneL
And bursting into heartfelt tearsM
'Yes yes ' she cried 'my hourly fearsN
My dreams have boded all too rightO
We part forever part to nightO
I knew I knew it could not lastP
'T was bright 't was heavenly but 't is pastP
O ever thus from childhood's hourQ
I've seen my fondest hopes decayR
I never loved a tree or flowerQ
But 't was the first to fade awayR
I never nursed a dear gazelleJ
To glad me with its soft black eyeS
But when it came to know me wellJ
And love me it was sure to dieS
Now too the joy most like divineT
Of all I ever dreamt or knewU
To see thee hear thee call thee mineT
O misery must I lose that too '-
