Old Adam, The Carrion Crow Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABCCBAAAAD EAEFGGHAAAAD

Old Adam the carrion crowA
The old crow of CairoA
He sat in the shower and let it flowA
Under his tail and over his crestB
And through every featherC
Leak'd the wet weatherC
And the bough swung under his nestB
For his beak it was heavy with marrowA
Is that the wind dying O noA
It's only two devils that blowA
Through a murderer's bones to and froA
In the ghosts' moonshineD
-
Ho Eve my grey carrion wifeE
When we have supped on king's marrowA
Where shall we drink and make merry our lifeE
Our nest it is queen Cleopatra's skullF
'Tis cloven and crack'dG
And batter'd and hack'dG
But with tears of blue eyes it is fullH
Let us drink then my raven of CairoA
Is that the wind dying O noA
It's only two devils that blowA
Through a murderer's bones to and froA
In the ghosts' moonshineD
