A golden name led the way
Off a vicious track
And I squinted at a sparkling ray
On a hillock ten miles away.

I witnessed my slip yesterday
But I must not fail to rise
When I fall
For nothing last forever, I guess.

Vistiges hope negated grave flinch
On my path facing the hill
And over perilous smear
I hopped repeatedly.

Feet firmed on kerb in short distance
The bright peak didn't call
But my penchant for the glowing
Gravitated my feet further.

At the root the peak looks near now
And its welcoming smile I love
But how deep to rely on the verdant
Perhaps Hiding ravines under its beauty?

If I may be fair to myself
I would be still and listen, perhaps
Hear the ravines growling menacingly
And I will stop dithering for another
fall may not permit a second rise.

I must wait for the ebb tide
To expose the loathing bane at the foot
And at the limpid flow through the steep
I shall be lifted to shine with the diamond
On the hill.
