Mother, Among The Dustbins Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAA BBB CCC DDD EEE FFGF

Mother among the dustbins and the manureA
I feel the measure of my humanity an allureA
As of the presence of God I am sureA
-
In the dustbins in the manure in the cat at playB
Is the presence of God in a sure wayB
He moves there Mother what do you sayB
-
I too have felt the presence of God in the broomC
I hold in the cobwebs in the roomC
But most of all in the silence of the tombC
-
Ah but that thought that informs the hope of our kindD
Is but an empty thing what lies behindD
Naught but the vanity of a protesting mindD
-
That would not die This is the thought that bouncesE
Within a conceited head and trouncesE
Inquiry Man is most frivolous when he pronouncesE
-
Well Mother I shall continue to think as I doF
And I think you would be wise to do so tooF
Can you question the folly of man in the creation of GodG
Who are youF
