To Her Portrait Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDEFEE

This that you see the false presentment plannedA
With finest art and all the colored showsB
And reasonings of shade doth but discloseB
The poor deceits by earthly senses fannedA
Here where in constant flattery expandA
Excuses for the stains that old age knowsB
Pretexts against the years' advancing snowsB
The footprints of old seasons to withstandA
-
'Tis but vain artifice of scheming mindsC
'Tis but a flower fading on the windsD
'Tis but a useless protest against FateE
'Tis but stupidity without a thoughtF
A lifeless shadow if we meditateE
'Tis death tis dust tis shadow yea 'tis noughtE
