Poet's note: As I was driving down Serangoon Road, the Little India of Singapore, I was thrilled to see the immaculate light up along both sides of the stretch of road and the cultural significance suddenly hit me about the place all through the years since my childhood years of my visiting the place. Really astounding and astonishing developments have taken place in that area over half a century of Singapore’s independence from British and a Malaysian rule.
