Sonnet Xxi: Your Words, My Friend Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA ABBA CDC DEF

Your words my friend right healthful caustics blameA
My young mind marr'd whom Love doth windlass soB
That mine own writings like bad servants showB
My wits quick in vain thoughts in virtue lameA
-
That Plato I read for nought but if he tameA
Such doltish gyres that to my birth I oweB
Nobler desires lest else that friendly foeB
Great Expectation were a train of shameA
-
For since mad March great promise made of meC
If now the May of my years much declineD
What can be hoped my harvest time will beC
-
Sure you say well Your wisdom's golden mineD
Dig deep with learning's spade Now tell me thisE
Hath this world aught so fair as Stella isF
