Sonnet Xvi: In Nature Apt Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA ABBA CCC CDD

In nature apt to like when I did seeA
Beauties which were of many carats fineB
My boiling sprites did thither soon inclineB
And Love I thought that I was full of theeA
-
But finding not those restless flames in meA
Which others said did make their souls to pineB
I thought those babes of some pin's hurt did whineB
By my love judging what love's pain might beA
-
But while I thus with this young lion playedC
Mine eyes shall I say curst or blest beheldC
Stella now she is nam'd need more be saidC
-
In her sight I a lesson new have spell'dC
I now hav learn'd Love right and learn'd even soD
As who by being poisoned doth poison knowD
