Sonnet 70: My Muse May Well Grudge Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB ABAB CDC DEE

My Muse may well grudge at my heav'nly joyA
If still I force her in sad rimes to creepB
She oft hath drunk my tears now hopes t'enjoyA
Nectar of mirth since I Jove's cup do keepB
-
Sonnets be not bound prentice to annoyA
Trebles sing high as well as basses deepB
Grief but Love's winter livery is the boyA
Hath cheeks to smile as well as eyes to weepB
-
Come then my Muse show thou height of delightC
In well rais'd notes my pen the best it mayD
Shall paint out joy though but in black and whiteC
-
Cease eager Muse peace pen for my sake stayD
I give you here my hand for truth of thisE
Wise silence is best music unto blissE
