Sonnet 32: Morpheus The Lively Son Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCA ABCA DED EC

Morpheus the lively son of deadly sleepA
Witness of life to them that living dieB
A prophet oft and oft an historyC
A poet eke as humors fly or creepA
-
Since thou in me so sure a power dost keepA
That never I with clos'd up sense do lieB
But by thy work my Stella I descryC
Teaching blind eyes both how to smile and weepA
-
Vouchsafe of all acquaintance this to tellD
Whence hast thou ivory rubies pearl and goldE
To show her skin lips teeth and head so wellD
-
'Fool ' answers he 'no Indies such treasures holdE
But from thy heart while my sire charmeth theeC
Sweet Stella's image I do steal to me '-
