Psalm 139 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAABAB CDEEDCD FAGGAFA HIJEIHK LMKKMLM AKNNKAK

O Lord in me there lieth noughtA
But to thy search revealed liesB
For when I sitA
Thou markest itA
Nor less thou notest when I riseB
Yea closest closet of my thoughtA
Hath open windows to thine eyesB
-
Thou walkest with me when I walkC
When to my bed for rest I goD
I find thee thereE
And everywhereE
Not youngest thought in me doth growD
No not one word I cast to talkC
But yet unuttered thou dost knowD
-
If forth I march thou goest beforeF
If back I turn thou com'st behindA
So forth nor backG
Thy guard I lackG
Nay on me too thy hand I findA
Well I thy wisdom may adoreF
But never reach with earthly mindA
-
To shun thy notice leave thine eyeH
O whither might I take my wayI
To starry sphereJ
Thy throne is thereE
To dead men's undelightsome stayI
There is thy walk and there to lieH
Unknown in vain should I assayK
-
O sun whom light nor flight can matchL
Suppose thy lightful flightful wingsM
Thou lend to meK
And I could fleeK
As far as thee the evening bringsM
Even led to west he would me catchL
Nor should I lurk with western thingsM
-
Do thou thy best O secret nightA
In sable veil to cover meK
Thy sable veilN
Shall vainly failN
With day unmasked my night shall beK
For night is day and darkness lightA
O Father of all lights to theeK
