Astrophel And Stella: Xxxix Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABABABCDCDEE

Come Sleep O Sleep the certain knot of peaceA
The baiting place of wit the balm of woeB
The poor man's wealth the prisoner's releaseA
Th' indifferent judge between the high and lowB
With shield of proof shield me from out the preaseA
Of those fierce darts despair at me doth throwB
O make in me those civil wars to ceaseA
I will good tribute pay if thou do soB
Take thou of me smooth pillows sweetest bedC
A chamber deaf to noise and blind to lightD
A rosy garland and a weary headC
And if these things as being thine by rightD
Move not thy heavy grace thou shalt in meE
Livelier than elsewhere Stella's image seeE
