The Lowest Trees Have Tops Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDD EFGHIJ

The lowest trees have tops the ant her gallA
The fly her spleen the little spark his heatB
And slender hairs cast shadows though but smallA
And bees have stings although they be not greatC
Seas have their source and so have shallow springsD
And love is love in beggars and in kingsD
-
Where waters smoothest run deep are the fordsE
The dial stirs yet none perceives it moveF
The firmest faith is in the fewest wordsG
The turtles cannot sing and yet they loveH
True hearts have eyes and ears no tongues to speakI
They hear and see and sigh and then they breakJ
