Jenifer's Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GH GHII JKJKLL

Small is my secret let it passA
Small in your life the share I hadB
Who sat beside you in the classA
Awed by the bright superior ladB
Whom yet with hot and eager faceC
I prompted when he missed his placeC
-
For you the call came swift and soonD
But sometimes in your holidaysE
You meet me trudging home at noonD
To dinner through the dusty waysE
And recognized and with a nodF
Passed on but never guessed thank GodF
-
Truly our ways were separateG
I bent myself to hoe and drillH
-
Yea with an honest man to mateG
Fulfilling God Almighty's willH
And bore him children But my prayersI
Were yours and only after theirsI
-
While you still loftier more remoteJ
You sprang from stair to stair of fameK
And you've a riband on your coatJ
And you've a title to your nameK
But have you yet a star to shineL
Above your bed as I o'er mineL
