Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDF AGHG IJ

Heavy tons of Canons lurking in the darkA
Sad he who could passby'B
The blood sucking riffles as angry as sharksC
To sing to sleep a sinister lullabyB

Here on usD
The monsters we createdE
Daft ominousD
Ourselves we enchantedF
-
Oozing in the darkA
Stale skulls foul death smellG
With the defeated jaws ajarH
Now quiet not even a tellG
-
We are nothing but a walking corpseI
As man's knowledge grows tallJ

Terry Burns: observation, baffled, realization, doom, a very visual poem, pertinent in it's timeliness
