I have walked through thorny pathsA
I have been hurt so much I cry like a babyB
I have sat down and plucked outC
Those bloody sucking pegs from my feetD
I haven't learnt I still walk the same pathE

I have trusted the untrustworthy villains of a kindF
I have taken unnecessary risks painful trialsG
Taken unwarranted painH
Just to please the ungratefulI
My lessons I never make sense ofJ

I am a wreck a disasterK
I have become a monster to my own dreamsL
A villain to those that trusted meB
A failure to my endeavorsM
My experiences have come to naughtN

I used to dream I can dream no moreO
I used to love now I am incapacitatedP
I have failed my flowers of the jungleI
Now I wandered into swampsQ
And my feet are stuck I can't walk no moreO

As I look over the distanceR
I see the barren horizonS
I see shattered dreamsL
Dreams that I builtT
Sweet dreams I gave up to treacheryB
A stupid rendition of a history of povertyB

I have seen relatives dieU
I have seen them waste away to AidsV
But the lessons still elude my attentionS
I haven't learnt I have let my children downW
I pray they never forgive meB

For a long time I have rubbed shoulders with deathX
I have had close shavesY
God got me through and pastZ
All this I have known but kept testing himA2
Could he keep this extra care foreverK
