Me, Myself And I Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEF GHIJHK LMNOP QRSTUV WRXXRR ORCYVZ KA2B2VC2X

I wish I could singA
I would write you a lullabyB
The ears of my heart would hearC
But the orchestra that is so perfectD
I know nothing beats itE
It s only love and nothing elseF
-
If I were that civilizedG
I would live in your worldH
I would articulate myself like expectedI
The shoes I wear the suits I donJ
Are but from my own worldH
I will carry them with but loveK
-
I know the mourn of the hyenaL
I know the roar of the lionM
I can tell when the guinea fowl singsN
I know when the bulls fightO
But my heart knows when love shinesP
-
I look back from a distanceQ
Perched on the crown of that solitary boulderR
Where my grandfather stood and whistledS
To his dogs so obedient and loyalT
A hare in their mouth their catch of the dayU
That s my world to it I owe my identityV
-
School was a challengeW
An end for a better futureR
A good job a good wife and a good lifeX
That s all I lived for half my lifeX
But misery has been no strangerR
In a life full of angerR
-
I wake up in the middle of the nightO
I wonder and ponderR
How the hell did I get hereC
To a love that caresses me insideY
So great it threatens my identityV
I will love yes but I will liveZ
-
I hear those echoes of loveK
They flatter me like a childA2
I have never known love like thisB2
Words don t come easyV
I will thank you with an old songC2
You will ever be the greatest love of my lifeX
