Listen to those little voicesA
They scream the cherish they appreciateB
Breaks my heart their genuinenessC
So innocent so real sounds ecclesiasticalD
Like a holy song a love sonnetE
Thank you Momma Oprah thank you mommaF
I wouldn t thank you better mommaF
You are my black Queen NgosikadziC
You are an African QueenG
-
Sitting on your crown a heavenly heartH
That none other can match youI
Have beat all odds exceeded all expectationsC
Putting smiles on the poor and not so poor youI
Been a bridge across bloodied riversC
A shining beacon of an invisible raceC
You have inspired a generation butJ
All said and done you are right thereK
In the cradle of every heartH
You are Momma Africa NgosikadziC
You are a black QueenG
-
You have walked where none other hasC
You uprooted your own darkness cuddled it in your palmsC
You saw sunshine where all saw darknessC
You sowed your seed of hope youI
Watered it with your own tears of loveL
That tree you planted will grow mommaF
Under its foliage a new Africa will find shadeM
A generation forgotten and forsakenN
Will rise from the ashes of humanityO
To adore your majestic heartland raise it higherP
Our own Royal majesty Black QueenG
Mother of Africa NkosikadziC
-
Like all the greatest of humansC
You shun the accolades but this oneN
I write not for your ears MommaF
This is for your big heart NkosikadziC
