Come On Home Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDE FGHIJK ELMJMK JNOPOK

I can hear them distraught voices of wailing mothersA
Calling from the depths of mighty watersA
Clutching their hurting ovaries screaming for their belovedB
Don t give up boy don t give up son come onC
A longing soul of a loving mother dying to see another of my brighter daysD
Come on home come on warrior diamond of my heartE
-
Echoes reverberate from every land on earthF
Of calls for a lost flock bah bah black sheepG
Trimmed of their wool down to their dark skinsH
Taking the wind the cold the storms and the scotching sunI
All for the fluffy comfort of an anorexic masterJ
All for love a black heart far from a seething homeK
-
These voices pierce my soul they pain my heartE
I try to ignore but they wail to unravel the ears of my soulL
They seem to question my sobriety my ingenuityM
I hear the spooky ghostly laughs they turn my angerJ
These are my folks forever crying for mercyM
Crying for a forsaken race begging come on homeK
-
These strong walls crack to a caged angerJ
Anger for a carryover injustice facts buried under sandy beachesN
Hypocrisy embedded in a pseudo free worldO
Where black men pay for freedom behind fortified wallsP
Modern slave yards justified and constitutionalizedO
But home calls their names come on come on homeK
