Rhyme Scheme: A BCBDCDEEDFGHFIIJJKKL LMMNNOOPP

Fragments combinedA
-
Thou fool that thou shouldst plume thyselfB
On rich attire on jewel hoardC
On dross of thine ill gotten pelfB
On carcanet and flashing ringD
On meats and wines that load thy boardC
Ay cup on cup past numberingD
Thou drainest with the drunken FoolE
Who hast not learnt in wisdom's schoolE
That wealth is an accursed thingD
Dislinked from goodness Only whenF
These twain are wedded happinessG
True and abiding comes to blessH
The fleeting life of dying menF
Fool yet not as in wrath I speakI
Not I on thee would vengeance wreakI
A quiet spirit dwells in meJ
That scorns to bruise such worms as theeJ
Nay but the inevitable FateK
Even now decrees thine after stateK
When thou art dead so shalt thou lieL
Ever thy very name shall dieL
Thy sordid story not outlastM
Thy burial for no part thou hastM
In Song land's roses whose perfumeN
Breathes life immortal o'er the tombN
Triumphant Unregarded allO
Shalt thou stray lost in Hades' hallO
Amidst the fameless dead forlornP
A vile ignoble thing of scornP
