Victory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCDBC EFGFEH

All night the ways of Heaven were desolateA
Long roads across a gleaming empty skyB
Outcast and doomed and driven you and IB
Alone serene beyond all love or hateC
Terror or triumph were content to waitC
We silent and all knowing SuddenlyD
Swept through the heaven low crouching from on highB
One horseman downward to the earth's low gateC
-
Oh perfect from the ultimate height of livingE
Lightly we turned through wet woods blossom hungF
Into the open Down the supernal roadsG
With plumes a tossing purple flags far flungF
Rank upon rank unbridled unforgivingE
Thundered the black battalions of the GodsH
