Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFEF GBHD

All suddenly the wind comes softA
And Spring is here againB
And the hawthorn quickens with buds of greenC
And my heart with buds of painD
-
My heart all Winter lay so numbE
The earth so dead and froreF
That I never thought the Spring would comeE
Or my heart wake any moreF
-
But Winter's broken and earth has wokenG
And the small birds cry againB
And the hawthorn hedge puts forth its budsH
And my heart puts forth its painD
