Seaside Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDCD EFGAFAE

Swiftly out from the friendly lilt of the bandA
The crowd's good laughter the loved eyes of menB
I am drawn nightward I must turn againB
Where down beyond the low untrodden strandA
There curves and glimmers outward to the unknownC
The old unquiet ocean All the shadeD
Is rife with magic and movement I stray aloneC
Here on the edge of silence half afraidD
-
Waiting a sign In the deep heart of meE
The sullen waters swell towards the moonF
And all my tides set seawardG
From inlandA
Leaps a gay fragment of some mocking tuneF
That tinkles and laughs and fades along the sandA
And dies between the seawall and the seaE
