Life Beyond, The Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBBDDBEFGE GH

He wakes who never thought to wake againA
Who held the end was Death He opens eyesB
Slowly to one long livid oozing plainC
Closed down by the strange eyeless heavens He liesB
And waits and once in timeless sick surmiseB
Through the dead air heaves up an unknown handD
Like a dry branch No life is in that landD
Himself not lives but is a thing that criesB
An unmeaning point upon the mud a speckE
Of moveless horror an Immortal OneF
Cleansed of the world sentient and dead a flyG
Fast stuck in grey sweat on a corpse's neckE
-
I thought when love for you died I should dieG
It's dead Alone most strangely I live onH
