Two Fusiliers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACC DDEDDD DDDDFF

And have we done with War at lastA
Well we've been lucky devils bothB
And there's no need of pledge or oathB
To bind our lovely friendship fastA
By firmer stuffC
Close bound enoughC
-
By wire and wood and stake we're boundD
By Fricourt and by FestubertD
By whipping rain by the sun's glareE
By all the misery and loud soundD
By a Spring dayD
By Picard clayD
-
Show me the two so closely boundD
As we by the red bond of bloodD
By friendship blossoming from mudD
By Death we faced him and we foundD
Beauty in DeathF
In dead men breathF
