To An Ungentle Critic Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAACCB DEDDFFE GBGGBBH IJIIHHJ

The great sun sinks behind the townA
Through a red mist of Volnay wineB
But what's the use of setting downA
That glorious blaze behind the townA
You'll only skip the page you'll lookC
For newer pictures in this bookC
You've read of sunsets rich as mineB
-
A fresh wind fills the evening airD
With horrid crying of night birdsE
But what reads new or curious thereD
When cold winds fly across the airD
You'll only frown you'll turn the pageF
But find no glimpse of your New AgeF
Of Poetry in my worn out wordsE
-
Must winds that cut like blades of steelG
And sunsets swimming in VolnayB
The holiest cruellest pains I feelG
Die stillborn because old men squealG
For something new Write something newB
We've read this poem that one tooB
And twelve more like 'em yesterdayH
-
No no my chicken I shall scrawlI
Just what I fancy as I strike itJ
Fairies and Fusiliers and allI
Old broken knock kneed thought will crawlI
Across my verse in the classic wayH
And sir be careful what you sayH
There are old fashioned folk still like itJ
