What do you thinkA
The bravest drinkA
Under the skyB
Strong beer said IB
-
There's a place for everythingC
Everything anythingC
There's a place for everythingC
Where it ought to beD
For a chicken the hen's wingC
For poison the bee's stingC
For almond blossom SpringC
A beerhouse for meD
-
There's a prize for every oneE
Every one any oneE
There's a prize for every oneE
Whoever he may beD
Crags for the mountaineerF
Flags for the FusilierF
For English poets beerF
Strong beer for meD
-
Tell us now how and whenG
We may find the bravest menG
A sure test an easy testH
Those that drink beer are the bestH
Brown beer strongly brewedI
English drink and English foodI
-
Oh never choose as Gideon choseJ
By the cold well but rather thoseJ
Who look on beer when it is brownK
Smack their lips and gulp it downK
Leave the lads who tamely drinkA
With Gideon by the water brinkA
But search the benches of the PloughL
The Tun the Sun the Spotted CowL
For jolly rascal lads who prayF
Pewter in hand at close of dayF
Teach me to live that I may fearF
The grave as little as my beerF
